T O P I C R E V I E WMIsterTrunkWhat do you think of this Apollo 15 signed Sieger cover? I can't review it in hand and also can't get the photo of the back. Do you see any red flags? Have you seen the copies of the cover? Thanks.Ken HavekotteOne of the "original" 100 Sieger covers that had been mailed from Houston to Germany in late 1971. But in order to verify the cover type as a true "100 Sieger," more graphics and documentation would be needed from my point of view. You would need to see the back-side of the cover, the paperwork from Sieger, and so on — just to make sure you're not seeing a professional "copy or photostat" made from an original Sieger flown moon cover. cvrlvr99Check the Okinawa cancel against images of the one that was actually used on the covers that Worden cancelled aboard that Recovery Ship. Look for placement of the numbers in regard to the letters. It's difficult and not always known that it is one way to verify some covers. RossI have a scan of an Apollo 15 carried to the Moon cover on my site which has one very significant difference. In the top left corner is a printed note with the number of the cover rather than a note from Irwin. Were there two different versions of these covers?mmmooRoss, your cover is one of the crew's 300. Whereas the topic starter posted one of Sieger's 100 covers.4allmankind quote:Originally posted by Ross:In the top left corner is a printed note with the number of the cover rather than a note from Irwin. Pretty certain the hand writing is that of Dave Scott.Ken HavekotteYes, indeed, Scott did all the hand writing at the top left on all the original German-owned Sieger moon covers.
